Music Tuesday: "Were You There When They Crucified My Lord" by Kathleen Battle

I'm sure you'll recognize this great Negro Spiritual sung by one of my favorite opera voices, Kathleen Battle.  I love the way she sings this A Capella.  Scenes from "The Passion of the Christ."

When I think of Holy Week, this is the song I most identify it with.  Prayers for all of my intentions.

  1. A great song - one of the very first I remember learning as a wee bairn. I make sure we sing it every year during Holy Week.

    1. Well, I'm praying for you too Victor. I guess you must not be an American if you've never heard this before. I doubt most non-Americans hear Negro Spirituals.

  4. Yes, I was there. Not personally of course, but because He died for all of us we were all there. We all put Him on the cross and yet that was God's holy plan.

This is the holiest time in all of Christendom! Happy Resurrection day. He is risen! He is risen indeed!
