Faith Filled Friday: Lent

Two video clips to ponder, both explain Lent in their own ways.

The first comes from Father Robert Baron who explains the theological roots.

And then there is this video that puts Lent into perspective.  Yes, there is fasting, but through fasting we arrive at a feast.

  1. I saw that you met Father Michael, nice! If you decide to come to Philly for saint Rita's day, don't forget to give us a heads up! Bob and I were married by a dear Augustinian priest and friend from that church.

  2. I didn't think of going to the Shrine, but perhaps I will. It's a little difficult when one's wife is not Catholic since it's not something she would do. I saw you commented on Allison's blog about St. Rita. Apparently Allison was at my parish for the Lenten lecture. I know she and Fr. Veras know each other through Communion and Liberation organization

  3. I understand. Cool that you parish is St. Rita! Mine is St. Monica, and there is a St. Nicholas of Tolentine near us. I have always loved Augustinian spirituality. Bob and I had once thought of joining the third orders, but apparently, their membership in such things is not thriving. It's true, that most of the Augustinian priests I have known are and were advanced in age. :( Sad, really.
Sorry so off topic on your Friday blog post. I did enjoy listening to Father Barron.
