Matthew Monday: Halloween 2017

Here are some pictures from last week’s Halloween.  This year Matthew went as a zombie convict…lol.  Yes, I guess they make a costume called a zombie convict.  It was horrible, if you ask me.  But I didn’t select it.

Now I think I’ve captured every Halloween Matthew has experienced and he has never had a costume of a villain until now.  Here are the costumes from the last four years.

2016: Knight
2015: Superman
2014: Batman
2013: Captain America

The zombie convict was a big departure in character.  It took some people back.  Actually it scared the dickens out of his maternal grandmother.

That was a live shot…lol.  And here he is with my mother, after she got over being startled.

While trick or treating we met up with a handful of his school friends.

They are all so cute.  And finally here’s the real Matthew with his natural, sweet face.

I told him next year he goes back to being a hero.

  1. Manny, your mother is looking great. Give her another hug and ask her to keep praying for me.

I guess they let out the zombie con vic, "I" meant 'convicts' out for good behavior this year so Matthew must have gotten a few extra candies with that scary costume!? Now I don't feel so bad for having added a long handle 'sick all', "I" meant to say... for having added a

to my 2013 costume and wearing "IT" again. LOL.

All kidding aside... if that's possible for me, I'll simply say that as far as scary costumes are concerned, that's not exactly what scared me back then in the early to mid fifties and I'll try to explain as simply as I can...

First of all, I better say that some of our Christian leaders who believe that children shouldn't be putting on scary costume these days probably have a point nowadays and besides, Matthew looked great in his 2013 Captain America costume.

If you permit me to ramble on a bit more... I'll tell you and your readers a little of what it was like in the mid late fifties for me as far as Halloween, I mean "All Hallows' Eve" is concern.

Long story short... I guess looking back and having been a altar boy serving high mass convinced me, myself and i that Halloween was really a day where GOD (Good Old Dad) allowed the dead to kind of Rome the earth and check things out for themselves... But they should go back on all Saints Day and let's just say that the last straw for GOD and His Angels would have been "All Souls Day"... the ones that had not gone back to their resting place... let's just say that they would literally need to prove who they actually served... if YA get my drift?

I better close by saying that reading tomorrow's Gospel 'God's Old Saving Precious Leader', "I" mean His Church, "Christ Heavenly Usual Christian Helpers" can't hurt us (usual sinners) too much and leave "IT" at that.
