Matthew Monday: Ten Things to Love About Italy

I was sent this video, and I showed Matthew and he found it fascinating.  I told him Nonna, his Italian grandmother, my mother, still makes pasta and pizza just like that from scratch.

I hope you enjoy the video.  Of the ten, the two things my family has never been big on is truffles and balsamic vinegar.

  1. I love, I mean, I like and enjoy eating pizza, spaghetti and cheese just to name a few of these 10 items but long story short, like you of course, I love GOD (Good Old Dad) more...lol

    God Bless you and yours

  2. My homemade pasta sucks! I like the flavor of semolina flour, but no matter what kind I use, the texture is wrong and doesn't cut well or go through my machine well. Pizza, that I've perfected. I need me a little old Italian lady to teach me pasta!

    1. I've never personally made pasta, so I couldn't tell you what the secret is.

  3. I haven't watched the video yet, but just want to add that I finally can make good meatballs. It took being the cook in a convent in South Philly, lol.

    1. Great! I think the secret my mother has is she adds a touch of milk. It makes them soft and moist.
