On Friday Matthew had his graduation ceremony from
Pre-K. It was really cute; the kids sang songs, said the Pledge of Allegiance, and introduced
themselves by spelling out their names. They actually wore cap and
gowns, though the caps were made of paper, boys in blue, girls in red.
It was held outdoors in front of a nearby gazebo. Here are a few pictures.
Walking down the pavement, cap and gown.
The graduating body consisted of two or three
classes, which amounted to a baker’s dozen or so. That’s Matthew’s teacher with her back to the
camera and Matthew is in the back on the teacher’s right side.
Not sure what he’s thinking here, but definitely
pensive.
Back in his classroom.
And next to his “girlfriend” Jane, who pulled
Matthew aside and said, “Let’s play together.” She had already taken off her cap and
gown. Hmm, awfully pretty.
After the picture they started jumping around
playing Batman and Batgirl…lol. Oh well,
they won’t be going to the same school in September. Now it’s off to big kids school,
Kindergarten!
God bless you and your family, Manny.
ReplyDeleteWe don't have graduations at this age in the UK. Pity. I think we should hold education more at a premium. Often here people take it for granted. The only graduations we have is when people get a Degree or a Diploma from a University.
Best wishes to you and yours.
That's surprising. No graduation or diploma even for high school? I wonder why. Anyway, thanks for stopping by.
DeleteLook at him! That look on his face with that little girl is Priceless! Manny, he's such a big boy now! How the years have flown! I remember how nervous you were about becoming a father. I think you've grown into the role quite well! Grandma doofie [Fay]
ReplyDeleteLOL, thanks doofie. But for the record Fay is not one of Matthew's real grandmas. She's just a politcally active buddy of mine where we argue against the forces of disaster. ;)
DeleteTime sure does fly!
ReplyDeleteJust a few weeks ago, my wife and I attended one of our grand son's grade twelve graduation and find it hard to believe that I'm getting old. :)
Long story short and for what it is worth, I believe that you and your wife are doing a great job.
God Bless
Thank you Victor. Time is so fast he has wings on his feet. I wish we could break his legs...lol.
DeleteWill he know anyone where he goes to kindergarten next year? Do you have a bus or do you all drop him off? Congratulations to the Graduate!!
ReplyDeleteActually he will be going to the Catholic school with my parish. It's just about five blocks away, so my wife might walk him over if the weather isn't bad. No we don't know anyone there yet. But he'll make friends fast. Thanks!
DeleteHe's obviously wondering why he hasn't heard back from Harvard or Yale yet.
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures- how fun!
Oh my gosh, SO cute! The girls are already noticing...:)
ReplyDeleteThanks Jan and Kelly. :)
ReplyDeleteCongratulation Manny! Matthew already looks like a little professor in these pictures.
ReplyDeleteOh, and his girlfriend is super cute and what a lovely couple they make! ;)
Thanks for sharing!

My pleasure, and nice to hear from you again my friend. :)
DeleteWhat a beautiful documentation of your big boy! I cannot believe how fast time has passed. He looks wonderful and very happy.
ReplyDeleteThank you. Though you didn't leave a name, I think I know who you are...lol.
ReplyDeleteIt seems like it was just yesterday you brought home a baby. He has lost his baby look and looks like a handsome young man. He'll have the girls falling all over him!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to you and your wife in raising such a good boy.
It does seem like yesterday. I'm amazed at how fast they grow to the next stage. Thank you my friend for stopping by.
