This was my home churc...Thank you for this account. This was my home church growing up and the school had many May crownings of this statue. Many of us wondered why this version was so different from all others, but then St. Vincent Ferrer is a treasure of unusual pieces of art and art that was created with the local parish in mind. Every piece of art has particular religious, local or Dominican meaning. The church was a regular stop for Andy Warhol when he lived down the block. He would drop in for a few minutes every day.
